Archiving and Preservation Policy

JHG practices the archiving and preservation of published research to enable the availability, integrity, and reliability of published research in the long term. After publication, all the articles are available on the journal site. The files, which are digital, are stored in non-volatile forms that should be used as reference and citation over a long period of time.

The journal uses the standard digital preservation practices, including: in order to minimize the risk of data loss, corruption, or access interruption:

  • Frequent downloads of published articles and file support.

  • Metadata storage of articles in order to facilitate indexing and retrieval.

  • The utilization of fixed file formats of text, figures, and additional material.

The journal also makes efforts so as to create continuity of access in the long run:

  • Surveillance of archived data to allow access and file integrity.

  • Article records to aid in maintaining articles to facilitate the use of the original document.

  • Preservation of the published material even in case of switching platforms.

Writers are permitted to store published copies of their work in subject or institutional repositories, under the terms of the licensing of the journal and citation. Further information on the practice of self-archiving and preservation can be found in the guidelines to authors.
